The SLCC Today email newsletter was redesigned to incorporate brighter colors to invite readers in, iconography and content sections to make dense information more easily read, and clear call-to-action buttons to increase click-throughs. The result is a modern design with a drastically improved user interface.
Branding
Developing a mark for the redesign was crucial to give the newsletter an identifiable look within the overall Salt Lake Community College brand. Several options incorporating a collegiate look and feel, referencing existing marketing, and leveraging the SLCC brand colors and fonts were explored. The selected mark utilizes large, white SLCC letters that call to other institutional signage efforts paired with a script font that helps the mark feel approachable.
Newsletter
The newsletter was designed and built to accommodate changing stories and seasons. The header image can be swapped to showcase an athletic team's win, celebrate the start of a school year, and to show off SLCC campuses. Custom button text tie the call-to-action to the story and infuses a sense of playfulness into the design.
